dc.description.resumoO objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar microscopicamente a reação do tecido pulpar, em dentes pulpotomizados de suínos, frente à ação das pastas à base de hidróxido de cálcio, extrato padronizado de própolis a 80% e à associação delas. Foram utilizados 9 suínos machos, com peso variando entre 75 a 100 kg e idade média de 140 dias. Os animais foram aleatoriamente distribuídos em três grupos experimentais, de acordo com os períodos de análise: 7, 21 e 42 dias. Os dentes utilizados para o procedimento de pulpotomia foram os quatro incisivos decíduos inferiores, que se apresentavam íntegros, sendo que em todos os períodos experimentais o incisivo lateral esquerdo não recebeu nenhuma pasta (controle), o incisivo central esquerdo recebeu a pasta de extrato padronizado de própolis a 80%, o incisivo central direito a pasta de hidróxido de cálcio e o incisivo lateral direito a associação das duas pastas. Após os períodos determinados, os animais foram sacrificados e os dentes removidos para processamento e análise histológica. Em todos os períodos de estudo, observou-se, no tecido pulpar reação inflamatória crônica leve, exceto no grupo do hidróxido de cálcio, que aos 7 dias apresentou reação inflamatória crônica moderada. Após 42 dias todos os grupos, exceto o controle, apresentaram a formação de barreira de tecido mineralizado, que recobria o tecido pulpar exposto. Concluiu-se que, as pastas de extrato padronizado de própolis a 80% e da associação entre hidróxido de cálcio e extrato padronizado de própolis a 80%, mostraram-se eficientes na indução da formação de barreira de tecido mineralizado e manutenção da vitalidade do tecido pulpar quando utilizadas em pulpotomia em dentes decíduos suínos.por
dc.description.abstractThe aim of this study was to assess microscopically the pulp tissue of swine teeth submitted to pulpotomy with calcium hydroxide, standardized propolis extract (80%) and the association between calcium hydroxide and standardized propolis extract (80%). Nine male swine, with weight ranging from 75 to 100 kg and mean age of 140 days, were used for the study. The animals were randomly distributed in 3 experimental groups with 3 animals each, according to the periods of study of 7, 21 and 42 days. The teeth used for the pulpotomy were the four lower primary incisors, where in all experimental periods the left lateral incisor did not receive any substance (control), the left central incisor received the standardized propolis extract (80%), the right central incisor the calcium hydroxide and the right lateral incisor the association between the two tested substances. After the determined periods of study, the animals were killed and the teeth removed for histological analysis. In all periods of time, it was observed a mild chronic inflammatory reaction in the pulp tissue, except the calcium hydroxide group, which after 7 days presented a moderate chronic inflammatory reaction. After 42 days of the procedure, all groups presented the formation of a hard tissue barrier that recovered all pulp tissue, except the control group.
